Post 100

Hello readers, well, I haven't been keeping count, but blogger has. This is my 100th post. This seems to be a fitting time to finally have it. Let's see where I've been.

I started this blog two years ago, come July. I was working as a lifeguard. The following summer, I worked as an intern at IBACOS in Pittsburgh. Kaitlin and I both enjoyed our business casual lifestyle, although I think my experience was better than her run in with the SEI.

That academic year between those two summers was my last year with such All Stars and Catherine, Mikos, and Josh. Think about Miklos! I turned 21 and our time together was all the better. I directed my first and only show with Joe McDermott. WASP, written by Steve Martin. I still think that's one of the best shows S'n'S has done in a few years. I also think that show destroyed my view on relationships for a while. I still don't think I'm totally over it.

The following academic school year was my senior year. SENIORS! I hate those people, people who get all excited and constanly yell SENIORS or '06! We don't have those people at CMU, of course, because that involves having interest in something school spirt related. This year, Team John Deere continued it's legacy with such things as punching and fixing holes in a wall. Also related, the Steeler's won their 5th Super Bowl. I was a lead in the Carnival musical, and I graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. I also secured myself a job with ATK by Christmas, by interviewing all of first semester.

During spring break, I traveled to Elkton, MD where my new job is located. I looked around for places to live and got help from Amanda's friend, Marcy. I'll be living at Iron Ridge if I can get everything wrapped up there.

Right now, I'm sitting at home, about to go to Tim's to fix his DVD player. Earlier today, I bought with the help of my parents, a 2006 Hyundai Elantra GT. It looks great. I'll drive it to Joe's tomorrow so some of you may see it.

Things are looking good. I've got a job, a place to live and as of today, a car. All I need now is a girl friend and some sort of life fulfilment.

Team John Deere, ROFLCOPTER, we're off!

Princess Mononoke, or Wolf Girl Meets Iron City

PrincessI just watched the movie, Princess Mononoke, directed by Hayao Miyazaki. I don't normally watch anime, but it was on TCM, and anything on TCM has to be legit. Here's the synopsis.

Set in feudal Japan -- a time of upheaval of samurai warriors and isolated villages -- comes this story of gun-wielding, young princess who is sent to an ancient, forested land to defend the forest from human encroachment which threatens to unbalance the forces of nature.

I only saw the second half. I wish I saw the whole thing. Anyway, I just thought I would share. ROFLCOPTR, If it's 4:50am, is it late or early?

PS - Billy Bob Thornton, Minnie Driver, and Claire Danes were voice actors in this film. I'm guessing they did dubbing? The movie I saw had subtitles. Maybe they can speak Japanese.

The Final Countdown

Pack This
It's my last week as a student at Carnegie Mellon. I have a final presentation Wednesday morning and a final exam Thursday morning. That's it. I'm done after that. Assuming I pass Computer Aided Engineering, I'll be graduating. Gradation will be May 21. I'll have about a week in there to just relax. That will be nice. Maybe I can go on a short excursion.

In case you've been out of the loop, I'll try and catch you up. Two weeks ago, we had our Carnival, or possibly "tech fair" for some of you native to Pittsburgh. I was a lead in the Scotch'n'Soda musical, City of Angels. That was certainly something new to me. I think I did alright, pulled it off anyway. Here's to the techies, being awesome when called upon.

I behaved like an actor too. Originally, I was the master carpenter, but that slowly was taken away from me by Grubb and Omohundro. I slowly slipped into the world of performer, losing the ability to make intelligent decisions about anything technical and be safe. At one point I walk up next to Zach holding a saw and look down at a platform and see a fine brown dust. I say, "What is that, sand?" Clearly, it was sawdust. Why would we have sand? That's just how my week went. Everyone was fantastic in that show. I feel like all the greats in S'n'S came out of the wood work to pull that off, acting and tech.

Joe and I just ordered food from Jimmie Johns. They make subs. I'm going to go get ready for the day. Also, last night Tim and I made a scale model of PNC park out of biodegradable packing peanuts, by the suggestion of Joe. Joe, who will burn down our apartment before we leave. ROFLCOPTER, go fill up with water, just in case.
